Following a week spent with the Dirt Magazine boys back in February this year.? I had been waiting with bated breath for some time for the email from Steve Jones at Dirt to say that the feature was ready to go into the magazine.

So when that email arrived in late October I was pretty excited to say the least!

As I cast my mind back to the places I had visited with the guys and the long long days of shooting photos for the feature I already had a couple of key shots that I reckoned would be a must. I've got to say that I wasn't disappointed! The shots of drifty volcanic gravel turns were all there, along with the wall ride and drops from volcanic pumice. But the big one what there on the opening pages. Rowan's ride past the hole!

This was a photo opportunity in the most unlikely of places. A small chunk of wasteland near the National Police station in Playa de Las Americas. But regardless of where it is, it makes a brilliant picture.
