Squirt Biodegradable Bike Lube
|
Like so many dry lube users we used Pedros Ice Wax for a long time. Then recently I saw some feedback on Squirt lube on some internet forums and got hold of a sample.
What can I say, it was a revelation. Squirt doesn't pick up any trail dirt or dust like the Ice Wax did. On top of that, the Squirt lasts around 3 times longer on the chain than the Ice Wax did. We normally had to reapply the Ice Wax after every ride as the chains were showing signs of being dry. But as a test I ran my bike without reapplying any lube and managed just under 200kms of dry dusty trails before the chain started to sound dry. Something that usually happened after about 40kms with the Pedros.
We're converted as we're sure you will be once you try it.
Squirt is a wax based, long lasting dry lube for the use on bicycle chains.
This liquid lubricant has unique properties that make it ideal for use in any cycling condition. It had been developed to give better lubrication, last longer and keep the chain cleaner over extreme distances for both MTB and road cycling. No degreasing is required.
Squirt is an emulsion that is blended under special controlled conditions from a number of waxes. This process gives it a unique smooth texture that makes it very easy to apply. No separation will take place under normal storage conditions and no clogging of the nozzle will occur.
Due to Squirt's composition, build-up due to dirt does not occur and no grinding paste will form.
Continuous application can be done without having to clean the chain. Excess wax that gets expelled by the chain does not attract dirt, hardens slightly and falls off during riding. Cleaning with a dry brush is adequate. This lubricant also sticks to the chain longer and extends lubrication intervals. |

Thecyclejersey.com - Purveyors of fine cycle jerseys.
We started working with Brian at thecyclejersey.com from very early on. Brian was good enough to print up a small run of jerseys for us and even delivered them personally (ok so he was coming over on holiday anyway). We've used these jerseys pretty much daily and found them to be really durable. The colours have lasted really well, zips on the XC style jerseys all still function perfectly and the stitching is top notch.
They have been through the wash cycle far too many times to count and still look good although after 3 years they have picked up a few stains on the way, some due to washing accidents on our part and the others due to the nasty red dirt up in the North of the island.
Bottom line is that we think thecyclejersey.com make a cracking product.
Why not take home your own piece of cycle jersey quality kit in the form of a Lavatrax Tenerife MTB custom riding top. Available in 3 different styles, classic XC, Short Sleeve Freeride and 3/4 or Full Sleeve DH. At only 39€ each, custom made and delivered to your home, it won't even affect your baggage allowance! |
The Sweatsucker is a sweat band that works.
Its mode of action relies on three principles: Absorption, transportation and evaporation. Its thin design, absorbent granules, non-woven outer material and constant evaporation ensures it works and stays cool at the same time.
Sweat is absorbed by highly absorbent granules in the sweatband that does not swell. As these granules become saturated, capillary action ensures it gets distributed evenly. In this way sweat is constantly transported to the sides. On contact with the helmet straps, it is drained down the sides of the head towards the chin and the quick drying outer material ensures constant evaporation. Sweat is kept out of your eyes and off your protective eye wear. |

TF Tuned. Our choice for servicing and repairs to Fox, Marzocchi, Push, Specialized, Canondale, 5th Element, Manitou and RockShox
OK, so we don't send our shocks and forks off very often as we do basic servicing ourselves. But on the occasions where something more than new seals are required were big fans of the service from the guys at TF Tuned. Quick turn around and great communiucations means that we're never in the dark about the work required and the cost. That and the shock / forks come back tuned for the type of riding we have here on Tenerife. |
